As 2009 model year vehicles arrive in local Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep showrooms, customers will be pleased to find that fuel economy has increased on 19 of Chrysler LLC's car, truck and SUV models, representing 73 percent of the entire product lineup. American consumers could see savings of as much as 6.7 million gallons of fuel per year with the 2009 fuel economy improvements. “Chrysler is committed to improving fuel economy for our customers, and we consistently look at viable technologies to help us achieve that goal,” said Bob Lee, Vice-President – Powertrain Product Team. “With offerings such as our Multi-displacement System (MDS), Active Transfer Case and Front-axle Disconnect, we are able to deliver consumers fuel economy improvements in a majority of our 2009 models.”

 A B-segment Jeep concept vehicle, the Jeep Renegade is a sporty, “minimized” two-seater ideally suited for the all-weather fun of dune-surfing or rock-crawling. “With an electric motor powering each axle, the Jeep Renegade concept is designed for a ‘hang on and have fun experience,’” said Tony Shamenkov, Jeep Renegade concept principal exterior designer. Constructed of environmentally responsible materials, sustainability is a key theme of the Jeep Renegade concept. Renegade is targeted at customers in the “Stylish Green” segment of the marketplace – those who are extremely environmentally oriented, appreciate high-tech and innovation, and enjoy performance combined with style in keeping with their “green” attitude.

During the third annual Camp Jeep New York, the Jeep brand raised
$16,470 for the "Tigers Forever" initiative, a Panthera project in
collaboration with the New York based Wildlife Conservation Society.
The goal of the project is to increase the number of tigers in key
areas of the world by 50 percent over the next decade.

Actions speak louder than words. Chrysler LLC announced today that the Company and its ENVI organization have new production-intent, advanced electric-drive technology packaged in three different vehicles – one for each of its brands, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge. Chrysler will select one electric-drive model to be produced in 2010 for consumers in North American markets, and European markets after 2010. Additionally, approximately 100 Chrysler electric vehicles will be on the road in government, business, utility and Chrysler development fleets in 2009.
