Monster Energy Kawasaki's Destry Abbott captured his fourth win of the year and finished his championship season on top during the final round of the AMA National Hare and Hound in Lucerne, California. Even with the championship already locked-up, Abbott went out to finish the season on top, taking the No. 1 plate from KTM's David Pearson aboard his Kawasaki KLX450R and clinching his fifth career AMA National Hare & Hound championship, tying with desert racing legends Dan Smith and the late Danny Hamel. Red Bull KTM's David Kamo grabbed second spot early in the first lap aboard his KTM 450 XC-F and managed to maintain it to the finish. Kawasaki rider Gary Sutherlin, riding an impressive first-ever national hare and hound, topped off the the podium in third. Kawasaki riders earned five of the top-six spots. 2008 AMA NATIONAL HARE & HOUND LUCERNE VALLEY PHOTO GALLERY SPEED TAGS: Kawasaki KLX450R Destry Abbott Dusty Rabbit AMA National Hare And Hound District 37 Lucerne Valley California Southern California Dirt Bike KLX450 KLX 450R Chris Owen |
