Post And MacCachren Seek To Improve SCORE Primm 300 Effort For A Riviera Racing Trophy Truck Win
Racing - SCORE International
Wednesday, 03 September 2008

In 2007, a historic desert racing season where the Riviera Racing was victorious in five races of the nine races they entered, the familiar glossy black truck driven by Mark Post and Rob MacCachren, finished a close second at the SCORE Primm 300.

Mark Post commented, "With the extended break between races we are anxious to get back behind the wheel of the No. 1 Rockstar/Makita/Monarch Grand Vacation sponsored Riviera Racing trophy truck. We are looking forward to another great race. The crew has made a few improvements to the truck during this three month break and our test last week in Barstow went well. Riviera Racing has always run strong at the SCORE Pimm 300 and this race will challenge us against a group of the nation's top desert racers."

The SCORE Primm 300 desert race features what some have arguably described as the most harsh desert terrain in the American desert. The race kicks off at Buffalo Bill's Casino in Primm, Nevada along the California/Nevada border and heads into the vast Southern Nevada desert where man and machine will be put to the ultimate test. Four 72-mile laps will determine the ultimate winner of this prestigious SCORE desert race.

This year's race is scheduled to have more than 125 entries, competing in 18 Pro and 2 Sportsman classes for cars and trucks. An elite field of Unlimited Production SCORE Trophy Trucks are slated to provide the excitement for desert race fans who are expected to fill the grandstands behind the Buffalo Bills Casino.

The reigning SCORE Trophy Truck Champions, Mark Post and Rob MacCachren will lead the Rockstar/Makita/Monarch Grand Vacations sponsored Riviera Racing army through the SCORE Contingency and Technical inspection on Friday morning in the Buffalo Bill's Casino parking lot mingling with fans of the Riviera Racing and No.1 Rockstar/Makita/Monarch Grand Vacations Trophy Truck.

40th SCORE Baja 1000 Champion, Rob MacCachren, commented,"The SCORE Primm race is one of my favorite races. Having grown up in the Las Vegas area, I've raced countless races here at Primm and to this day it is one of my favorite races. The No.1 Rockstar/Makita/Monarch Grand Vacations Trophy Truck is ready to go. Jim and the crew have done a magnificent job on the prep including some important upgrades. I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to put the Riviera Racing truck in the winner's circle again."

Post, a Southern California native, and MacCachren, a Las Vegas native, will entertain a host of people in the Riviera Racing hospitality tent in the main pit, which will include the Rockstar Energy Drink girls who will be on hand signing posters for fans. Spectators will also be able to watch the Riviera Racing crew utilize a full selection of Makita Power Tools in the pits.

"The last time Rockstar Makita Riviera Racing Trophy Truck hit the dirt, we were only 7-seconds off a win in Tecate SCORE Baja 500. Mark, Rob and the rest of the team are ready and pumped to take the checkered flag in Primm. Jim Blackmore also mentioned that the Makita power tools have really helped out in the race shop preparing the truck for the upcoming battle," said Brent Withey, Makita Sr. Brand Manager.

The No.1 Rockstar/Makita/Monarch Grand Vacations Trophy Truck will take the starting line in the fifth position. The field of SCORE Trophy Trucks will leave the line every 30 seconds beginning at 1:00 p.m.
